Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born the 18th of November 1985. She was born in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix realized early on that she had an aptitude in running while attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Just 10 weeks after her first attempt, she finished in second place in the 200-meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003, Felix graduated from high school and signed a professional deal with the company that makes sports Adidas prior to matriculating at the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. Felix took home her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. She set a Junior World Record by sprinting 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. In 2005, she became the youngest 200-meter world champion at the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007, beating her former Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top third of each of her events in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
